Grassroots to Glory Mobile Application

The Problem

Grassroots football is where most players begin, but opportunity is often uneven. Talented young athletes usually depend on local exposure, personal connections, or pure luck to get noticed by scouts. At the same time, parents need confidence that under-18 participation is managed securely, while coaches and scouts struggle to find trusted tools to evaluate talent at scale. We saw a massive gap between grassroots ambition and real football development opportunities.

The Solution

We built Grassroots to Glory as a trusted, multi-sided digital platform designed to bridge that gap. The mobile app creates a structured pathway connecting local participation directly to coaching, visibility, and trial opportunities.

Instead of a one-size-fits-all experience, we engineered dynamic, role-based dashboards. Players can easily create profiles and upload highlight reels to get discovered. Parents maintain full oversight with dedicated guardian accounts. Coaches can list their services and manage bookings to build their credibility, while professional scouts gain access to powerful search tools, evaluation reports, and direct trial invitations.

Engineering the Platform

To support multiple distinct user roles within a single seamless app, we focused on building a highly adaptable architecture. The platform was developed as a modern TypeScript monorepo, utilizing React Native and Expo for a smooth, native-feeling mobile experience.

We integrated Firebase to handle real-time database needs, secure authentication, and media storage for player highlights. To support the platform’s dual revenue paths (subscriptions and coach marketplace bookings), we implemented a robust payment infrastructure using Stripe. By keeping client-server communication strictly type-safe, we ensured the codebase remains highly maintainable as new features and user workflows are introduced.
